We’re really proud of our team at Forsyth Construction. Our group is small but effective, working seamlessly together to deliver outstanding results on every project. Our team is skilled in handling everything from new builds to renovations, and more specialised structures like architectural homes, farm sheds, and even commercial projects.

HEATH FORSYTH

Heath is the founder and owner of Forsyth Construction. Growing up in Ward, Heath developed a strong work ethic; he has worked in outdoor, physical jobs all of his life and leads an active, outdoors lifestyle. When he’s not working, Heath can be found spending time with his wife and daughter, or off hunting and fishing with the lads.

Heath became a qualified builder in 2012 after completing his training with BCTIO and is now a Licenced Building Practitioner. He has worked as a sole trader contracting to various builders and companies since 2013. In addition to his local building experience, Heath has worked overseas in the outback of Australia building and in the United States as a fencer and rancher. His latest overseas adventure was working as a builder in the isolated island of Nauru as a FIFO worker.

In 2020, Heath and his wife, Shamatay, founded Forsyth Construction and have continued to grow the team and services offered, in addition to offering apprenticeships and mentoring to up-and-coming builders.

FENTON NEAL

Fenton was born and raised in Christchurch where he completed his apprenticeship. He then made his way up to sunny Marlborough in 2020.

Fenton has 7 years of building experience and leads our team as a skilled Leading Hand. With strengths in organization, problem solving, and attention to detail, Fenton ensures work runs smoothly and to a high standard. Passionate about sustainable building, he brings valuable knowledge to projects that prioritise both quality and environmental responsibility. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring New Zealand with his wife and dog, with a strong love for the outdoors.

FENTON NEAL

SHAMATAY FORSYTH

Shamatay was born and raised in Santa Fe, New Mexico and made the move to New Zealand in 2015 to start a life with Heath. Prior to adopting a role within the business she focused her time in the classroom and within the legal sector.

With over 5 years of experience in the construction industry, Shamatay is a highly skilled and dependable Office Manager known for keeping operations running smoothly behind the scenes. Combining industry knowledge with strong administrative expertise, Shamatay excels at managing office functions and ensuring your project is ran smoothly from start to finish. In her spare time you can find her spending time with her family, cooking and enjoying the outdoors.

TONY LLOYD

Tony grew up in the Awatere, where he has spent most of his life. He is a husband, and a father to four children. In his down time, Tony can be found fishing, golfing, and building with reclaimed timber.

A man of many trades, Tony initially trained as a butcher before transitioning into beef and sheep farming for the proceeding 17 years. He completed his apprenticeship and is now a qualified carpenter, and is a welcomed addition to the Forsyth Construction team.

TONY LLOYD

Billy Waiti

Billy, born in Auckland and raised in Northland, has recently settled down with his partner and dog. With a fresh certification under his belt and hands-on experience from Whangarei, he is enthusiastic about his career.

Beyond work, Billy is an avid outdoorsman — he loves fishing, driving, and spending time by the water. He’s also a dedicated rugby league fan, catching every game he can during the season.
